pink fit and flare dress Pink Maxi DressPink is where this dress started. That is the most useful thing to know about the pink colourway: it is bold enough to be the first choice, and good enough to make someone immediately want a second one in a different colour. Pink is where this dress started. It is the colour Penny J chose first — 'I bought this in the pink first, and was so impressed that I came back and bought the black as well.' That is the most useful thing to know about the pink colourway: it is bold enough to be the first choice, and good enough to make someone immediately want a second one in a different colour. Sandhya Garg cut it in 100% cotton poplin — the same fabric across all three colourways — which Penny J describes as 'so soft and on the heavier side for soft cotton, not thin at all.' The pink here reads as confident rather than pastel. It photographs in natural light with the same quality as it looks in person.

The silhouette is the one the series is known for: a fit-and-flare with a fitted bodice and a full maxi length A-line skirt that runs to the floor. The square neckline sits flat and wide. The pintuck straps add a gathered ruffle texture at the shoulder. The criss-cross back is the detail most people notice second — it works without a bra and creates a visual interest from behind that a plain back does not. Penny J wears a Large at size 12: 'it's perfect.' Model is 5'8" wearing Small; high point shoulder to hem is 52".

Pink is one of the most versatile spring wedding and summer wedding guest colours in the catalogue. It reads as celebratory and feminine without competing with the bridal party. For beach weddings and outdoor ceremonies, the cotton poplin breathes in warm weather and the colour holds in coastal light. For garden parties and bridal showers, pink in a fit-and-flare silhouette is one of the strongest colour-and-shape pairings in occasion dressing. For date nights and evening events, the dress works with gold jewellery and block heels for a look that reads as deliberate without requiring visible effort.

This dress is also available in black and yellow. Penny J bought pink first and then bought black. Caroldiana owns five colours. The construction and sizing are identical across all colourways.

Available in sizes XS through 3XL (US sizes 00–24). Hand wash cold or dry clean; hang dry. Gentle hand washing does not fade or shrink this fabric — confirmed by customers across the poplin maxi series. If between sizes, size down for a closer bodice fit.

Product details: 100% cotton poplin | pink | square neckline | pintuck straps with ruffle detail | criss-cross back | fit-and-flare silhouette | full floor-length maxi | sleeveless | wedding guest to casual occasion range | sizes XS–3XL | $298 | free US shipping over $250.

Is pink a good colour for a wedding guest?

Yes — pink is one of the most appropriate and popular wedding guest colours. It reads as celebratory without competing with the bridal party (typically white or ivory). It works across spring, summer, and garden wedding settings and photographs well in both natural and indoor light.

Is this dress true to size?

Yes. The bodice is fitted; measure your bust and check the size chart before ordering. Penny J wears a Large at size 12 and describes the fit as perfect. If between sizes, size down for a closer bodice fit.

Is the pink opaque — do I need a slip?

Yes. The 100% cotton poplin has enough weight and opacity that no slip is required in pink. The fabric is 'on the heavier side for soft cotton, not thin at all' — confirmed by customers across the poplin series. No sheerness concern in any colourway.

Can it be machine-washed?

Gentle hand wash in cold water with mild detergent, or dry clean. Hang dry. No fading or shrinkage reported by customers after gentle washing. Do not tumble dry.

Is this available in other colours?

Yes — also in black and yellow. Construction and sizing are identical across all colours. Customers often buy more than one — Penny J bought pink then black, and Caroldiana owns five colourways.

What is the criss-cross back and pintuck detail?

The back of the dress has two straps that cross over each other rather than running parallel — this is the criss-cross construction. It provides support without a bra and creates a visual detail from behind. The pintuck straps have a gathered ruffle texture at the shoulder where the strap meets the bodice — a construction detail that adds dimension at the neckline without adding bulk.

Amazing Dutch!
I've been on a cast iron craze recently. I think back to college when I'd watch Yan Can Cook, and Chef Martin Yan would lean over into the pan and say, "It's got to be hot hot!" I finally realize what he means after all these years of cooking. Heat makes for awesome cooking. It gives wok hei. It makes the difference between a juicy, seared steak vs a dry, tough one. When I discovered this secret, I was like a kid in a candy store, picking this cast iron, that cast iron, another cast iron, please. When I bought the 5 quart Amazon Basics dutch oven, I figured that at the low price, if it came with issues, it wouldn't be an expensive loss. I was impressed with the packaging. Amazon did not want this pot to break, so it had form fitted Styrofoam everywhere, pot and cover nicely separated. There was a nice Amazon Basics logo on the bottom of the pot. Upon close inspection, I thought I found a hairline crack on the cover. It seems when they casted it, part of the iron folded over on itself and formed the line. Someone then took a sander and sanded part of it slightly. What I thought was the hairline crack was actually the edge of the polished surface. The next day, I cooked bacon in it. I fired up the Camp Chef Explorer stove and cooked two pieces of bacon in the pot. I also flipped the cover upside down and cooked two pieces of bacon in it. The cover makes a very nice ad-hoc skillet. After it cooled, I inspected the cover again, and it is not a hairline crack. The bacon seasoning started covering up both the polished and unpolished surface into a nice, uniform seasoning. The following day, I made chicken stew in it. While carmelizing the onions and carrots, I made another nice discovery. The flat bottom lends itself nicely to efficient stir frying. Sometimes, in a wok, I come across the problem of the bamboo spatula not being able to get under the food, so I end up chasing the food up the sides of the wok unable to flip it. The part of this dutch oven where the bottom meets the sides creates a nice angle that pushes the food onto my bamboo spatula for easy flipping. Yesterday, I took it to my parents' house and made artisan bread in it. Everyone was impressed with the crispiness of the bread crust. Everyone came back for seconds. Needless to say, I no longer have the dutch oven. My mom liked it so much I gave it to her. It's almost Mother's Day, and who would say no to their mom? *ahem* Amazon...another cast iron, please! LOL PS: The lid fits a 10 inch skillet but not a 10.25 inch skillet. It falls into a 10.25 skillet.

Perfect for Bread
Size: 2-Quart
I bought this to make the bread in the book "Bittman Bread" by Mark Bittman and Kerri Conan, which I also bought here on Amazon. This Dutch Oven has been working perfectly for the last 6 months of baking. As a bonus, it's much less expensive that the same size Lodge pot. I've got a 5-1/2 quart regular and a 7-1/2 quart enameled both from Lodge and use them all the time for stuff, but I only use this 2 qt for the bread, usually more than once a week. It's great. Look up that "Bittman Bread" book and buy it from Amazon (I don't think you can insert links in the review), then definitely buy this Dutch Oven. I highly recommend both.

Excellent Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven
Color: Red, Size: 5Qt
This Dutch oven has quickly become my favorite piece of cookware in the kitchen. The enamel coating makes cleanup surprisingly easy, even after slow-cooked meals. It heats evenly and keeps food warm for a long time after cooking. I’ve used it for soups, roasts, pasta dishes, and homemade bread with amazing results every time. The red color is beautiful and looks great sitting on the stovetop. It feels heavy and durable without being impossible to handle. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a high-quality and versatile cooking pot.

Great for baking bread
Color: Red, Size: 5Qt
Great quality for a good price. I use this to bake sourdough loaves and it performs superbly! I love the little handle potholders they are the perfect size and provide good protection from the very hot pot. Beautiful color but practical and useful.
